Lot:  111608 BEATLES  "Introducing The Beatles"  EXTREMELY  RARE VEE JAY VERSION 1  "MONO" AD BACK  LP-1062.   Outer Jacket  These jackets traditionally were not constructed very well nor was the printing and coloration made in such a way as to prevent wear.  They wore terribly even with care.  Splitting on all edges was very common, and this one is no exception, however this one is one of the RAREST outer jackets even conceived - known commonly as the "AD BACK" making it in any condition, one of the most sought after albums ever made.  Therefore one must remember that when buying such an item,  you are buying it mainly for it's RARITY.   To take this one step further, this AD BACK has a VERSION 1 VINYL (in Beautiful Condition!) making it a FIRST PRESSING and even RARER.  If both the outer jacket and the vinyl were MINT, the price of this package would be substantially higher.  THE PRICE IS BASED UPON THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE JACKET AND VINYL taking into account the factor of scarcity.   The spine is completely in tact  and clearly readable.   The words "PRINTED IN U.S.A." appear on front lower left side of cover.  There is a small amount of writing on rear side of the front outer cover (top right) and has George's shadow clearly visible.  The AD BACK is pictured with 25 Vee Jay Album Covers.  The record itself (A VERSION 1 pressing) is actually quite nice, with only some very minor marks (hardly visible to the naked eye) which do not affect play in any way!   For those who are not familiar, VERSION 1  albums contain the recordings  LOVE ME DO  and  P.S. I LOVE YOU  rather the more common VERSION 2  which contain in their place, PLEASE, PLEASE ME  and ASK ME WHY.  One has to consider how RARE this album actually is and how scarce these FIRST PRESSINGS  have become. The vinyl market for items like this is drying up rapidly and as time goes on, there are fewer and fewer of these around - in any condition.    For those of you who are not aware of the history of this album, the ADs on the BACK in the form of other Vee Jay Album covers are there to hide the supposed song titles of songs which Vee Jay was supposed to have stopped selling due to the fact that they were in the process of being sued by CAPITOL RECORDS.  It was apparently the thinking at that time by Vee Jay executives that by hiding the song titles, no one would really know what they were selling inside.  How stupid were these people!
