Not! Re-issue.' Description Offered here is a rare opportunity to aquire an original copy of Marc Bolans' first single release, 'The Wizard', on the Decca record label. Released in 1965 and backed with 'Beyond The Rising Sun', this is complete with the original Decca sleeve. I first purchased this record, from an ad in the back of 'The Record Mirror' weekly music paper, back in the early 1970s'. At the time, I had just left school and started my first full time job. Being an almost obsessive collector of anything Bolan related, I didn't hesitate in parting with TWO full weeks wages to get my hands on, what was even then, a Bolan 'treasure'. My mum was not at all impressed and my mates thought that I was stupid, and had lost the plot, to even think about spending all that money on a 7" single. I didn't care, it was my prized possession and to me was worth every penny. This has remained one of my most prized records and over the years has been played probably less than a dozen times. (I taped it and listened to the tape rather than play the record for fear of damaging it). The condition is excellent both sides. Some visible, but very light, surface marks which do not affect play at all. No audible clicks, scuffs, scratches, pops, jumps. In fact it plays almost perfectly, nice and crisp and clear. The labels are also both in excellent condition. with no scratches, writing, or stickers etc. Please see pictures for more detail but bear in mind that the pictures are taken from a mobile phone camera and are not of the best quality. I realise that it is difficult to give a good description of vinyl records, as peoples opinions vary. I try to be as honest and accurate as possible and I believe that if you are lucky enough to win this item, you will not be disappointed. I have only ever seen a handful of copies of this disc in almost 40 years of collecting, and this particular copy is by far the best condition I've seen. Serious bids only please.
