Description
Brand New Black Diamond Ascension Standard Telemarking and Alpine Touring Ski Skins Length: 210cm Width: 64mm These skins are purple like the picture, but they do not come with the STS attachment on the back like the ones in the picture. Retail for $139.00 Black Diamond Ascension skins are long lasting, hard climbing skins that are stiffer for increased endurance and easy handling. We have sold hundreds of Black Diamond Standard skins (without the tail attachment) and we have never had a single complaint for return request. We have never once had someone write to us and tell us that the skins have slipped or come off the ski. That tells you that these skins are the highest quality skins you can buy. Ascension climbing skins set the standard when they first came out. They've long since been taken over by Black Diamond, but aside from a few hiccups along the way, everything has worked out fine, and the Ascension is still the top contender in the skin business. You'll love the glue on these skins. Sticky, sticky, and stickier still, this glue locks your skins to your boards so securely you wont even need the STS attachment to lock the tail. Year after year, the Ascension glue stays sticky. I had a pair whose nylon mohair finally disintegrated after about 10 years. The glue was still as sticky as ever. Compared to other skins, the Ascension has an intentionally stiffer feel; Black Diamond says the extra stiffness makes them easier to put on and take off in windy conditions. The deep purple of these skins gives them a classic look that I like; call me old fashioned. This season's version has switched to an orangey yellow. Maybe we can lobby BD to change the color back! As for the competition, a few models claim to be lighter than the Ascension. I haven't seen the numbers—either on their scales or mine—to back up those claims. Stick with the original: these are still the best skins you can buy. This review came from: Sierra Descent Gear. Here is the offical description: Designed for skiers who prefer skins without a tail attachment, the Ascension Standard’s durable, hydrophobic Plush construction provides an unsurpassed grip for climbing. The sewn-in tip loop reduces bulk and drag while still providing great security. Check out our feedback and bid with confidence! Policies We have always tried to provide excellent customer service, and fair shipping charges. We take our feedback seriously, and have always tried to solve any matters that have arisen in a way that is satisfactory to our customers. In the thousands of transactions we’ve conducted over the years we very rarely gave any negative feedback scores to our customers. However, due to the recent ebay changes we are not allowed to give any negative feedback at all and so we are making the following changes in the way we conduct our auctions in order to protect ourselves. We will now only offer Priority Mail or Global Express Mail for shipping options. We have offered less expensive shipping options in the past, but customers get upset and blame us when the parcel post option they selected takes 2 or more weeks to arrive. We are afraid that these angry customers will leave us the negative feedback that is really due to the postal service because we cannot respond with like feedback for them. Shipping insurance will no longer be optional, but required for larger dollar value items. We now reserve the right to cancel any bids placed by bidders that appear to be in the habit of routinely leaving negative feedback to other sellers. We reserve the right to block any bidder from future auctions if they have left us unwarranted negative feedback. We reserve the right to cancel any bidder with a feedback score of 0. We have always tried to only charge $1.50 -$2.00 for handling fees to help cover the expenses for some of the boxes we use for shipping (that actually cost us up to $3.40). Due to the drastic increase in final value fees that ebay is now charging, we will be increasing our handling fees by approximately $1.00 of what they were in the past. (This increase will not off set the new fees, but will now come closer to actually covering the costs of the shipping supplies.) We apologize if this upsets our customers, but we feel that these changes are the only way that we can afford to continue selling on ebay
