This is the original pre-release one-sided metal acetate which almost certainly once belonged to a member of The Who. Brought to Australia many years ago by its owner when he emigrated from the UK.  The EMIDISC paper label has the words "Substitute" and "45rpm" typed in italics. "The Who" has been hand-written in blue fountain pen.  The most intriguing aspect of the label are the underlined hand-written words "4th March Promise will be available" written in blue pen. This was obviously a note to a member of The Who and/or the group's management team regarding the record's proposed UK release date in March 1966. Plays the same as the released version on the Reaction label (591 001).   The Record displays some surface marks, but plays well with only a slight crackle .. there are only a couple of moderate marks and these do not affect play at all. Plays free from any skips or jumps.
