If you have any questions please feel free to ask and good luck bidding!  Also, if you need some racks for that special board, please check out these solid Teak wood shortboard or longboard wall racks HERE.........Mahalo and enjoy!    THIS TOMMY NELLIS LIGHTNING BOLT  Given the opportunity to be one of the initial core board builders for the newly formed Lightning Bolt shop in the 70’s, Tommy Nellis immediately understood the benefits to himself and the shop of being in total control of the production process.   Unlike many in the industry, Tommy personally handcrafts each board before he puts his name on it, from shape to rubout every board is the pinnacle of a truly custom board.   Tommy Nellis is one of the last in the prestigious line of skilled shapers given the right by Lopez to use the Bolt logo on his custom boards.   During the 70’s Tommy and a few friends would make a point of watching a perfectly formed cloud break wave, which breaks a mile or so outside of Alligators rock on the North Shore, whenever Waimea was closing out and the winds were light.    By 1978 Tommy and his friends convinced themselves that the wave could be ridden, but the 50 foot faces were too much for their Waimea guns.   Tommy built about 6 Outside Gator specials, kept two for himself and gave the rest away to his friends, this is one of the very rare 6 original Outside Gator specials up for auction!    THIS RARE PIECE OF SURFBOARD HISTORY IS AN ALL ORIGINAL  HANDCRAFTED 11'6" BIG WAVE CHARGING  MACHINE!    SEE PICTURES  THE BOARD HAS A HONEY YELLOW CLEAR TINT WITH A DECK LIGHTNING BOLT NEAR THE NOSE. THIS CUSTOM GLUED CLARK FOAM BLANK HAS A CENTRAL STRINGER WITH MATCHING 2" BALSA WOOD STRINGERS ON EITHER SIDE.
